It's been a sensational year for racing games, with Modnation Racersand Split/Second.And while 4X4 Jamisn't quite in the same league, it's a feisty little slice of hard driving.

Unconcerned with such sissy things as gears, 4X4 Jamrevels in sparse controls and aggressive play. Initially in a Beetle, you build horsepower as you progress, to some 4X4 action within a few races.

With non-linear tracks and races, competitors negotiate tough terrain, make 180-degree turns and force their way to the finish line. With ramming and pushing encouraged, it’s fair to say nice guys finish last.

This is a mini-game, so is quite short, and it's not as nimble as some other racers on the market. But if you're looking for a simple, cheap, brief, brawler with a killer heavy metal soundtrack, 4X4 Jamwill address your needs.
