In a bid to get their four children to wear their bike and scooter helmets, two mothers came up with a quirky idea. Jane Carroll, a designer with her own shop on Carysfort Avenue in Blackrock, and theatre producer Kate Tormey, husband of Tony Tormey who plays Paul in Fair City, combined forces to create Happpy Headbangers, a set of helmet covers that make safety a fun feature.

They come in seven different designs, cost €22 each, and are available to buy from Jane Carroll's Design shop, 64 Carysfort Avenue in Blackrock or online at happyheadbangersclub.com.
