An “artist in residence” may be commonplace at universities, galleries and even hospitals these days, but to have one at a hotel is quite the score.

Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa has announced the residency of Irish artist Deborah Donnelly (right), best known for her bright oil paintings of cows. Donnelly, whose work is collected by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Keanu Reeves and others will host paint and pinot classes at 7.30pm on November 9th and 10th, to include all materials, wine and finger food for €65. She will also hold a coffee and cupcakes class on November 8th at 10.30am (€58). One night BB from €124, including the paint and pinot class, early-bird dinner and spa access.
