MAYO WALKING:Trek West is offering a two-day walking weekend on October 2nd and 3rd.
The first challenge on the Saturday will be the 20km Bonniconlon Loop taking in the Ox Mountains and surrounding lakes.
On Sunday the itinerary will be split between a morning and afternoon session at Lough Muck and Lough Callow near Foxford. Participants will be rewarded with a festival banquet on the Saturday night. AN ÓIGE WALK
The An Óige bus departs from Eden Quay (The Laughter Lounge) every Sunday. Tomorrow’s walks start from the Pier Gates, Co Wicklow and the bus will leave at 10.30am.
There is a choice of two walks – White Hill, Djouce, War Hill, Tonduffs, Glensoulan, Wicklow Way, Paddock Pond; or an easier hike along the Wicklow Way from the Pier Gates to Paddock Pond.
Participants should be properly prepared. Both walks are guided and the bus fare is €12. No commuter tickets. No dogs.
