Customer comments on little white cards do matter, at least where Private Ireland members are concerned. This week Brook Lane Hotel, in Co Kerry, was awarded the prize for overall Private Ireland experience at the 10-member group's inaugural Honours Roll Call. The guest comment cards were independently calculated by Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology's hotel school. There were accolades for quirky categories such as bubbliest bath and fluffiest pillow. Private Ireland chairman Frank Slattery and his wife, Mary, won three awards as proprietors of Carrig Country House, in Co Kerry, including service with honours, honours for the host, and enchanted garden. There's nothing like setting a good example.
