The results of the post mortem on the body of the baby boy found in a dump in Swords in north Dublin concluded that he was full term and that there were no injuries sustained after birth.
The post-mortem, which was carried out last night by the assistant state pathologust, Dr Marie Cassidy,showed the infant had been dead for a number of days before it was found.
Gardai have renewed their appeal for the mother to come forward as she may need medical attention. They pledged she would be treated with compassion and sympathy.
The body was found wrapped in a blanket by workers at a registered tipping site at Newbarn, Kilsallaghan, Swords.
The workers were moving earth which had just been deposited by a truck when the discovery was made shortly before noon.
